In Tom’s Paper Conventions, an acclaimed series of lectures/lecture notes, he brings together his own magic along with some of his favorite magic from his friends like Jack Carpenter, Jeff Prace, Curtis Kam, John Carey, Ed Oschmann, Trent James, Jeremiah Zuo, Richard Hucko, Joe Cole, Benny Lau, David Kuraya and Patrick Flanagan. Tom’s goal in every item he releases is to provide strong fun magic that you will learn and perform. The success of this series culminated in his Penguin LIVE lecture.

His current lecture is a best of from the Paper Conventions. Each lecture starts with a short show/performance of the effects that will be taught.

The lecture includes:

Right Down the Street

This is my handling of the Out of This World plot inspired by the genius Dani DaOrtiz...it's your life....

Hana Ho Card

Curtis Kam

"Hana Ho" means "Do it Again!" in Hawaiian. And Hawaii magician Curtis Kam uses this simplified moving hole effect to answer that call, it's a quick encore to any effect using a signed card that transforms that card into something just a little more special for the lucky person who gets to keep it.

Naked Deck Opener

Trent James

The perfect opener to a card or close up set. A blank deck becomes instantly printed with faces and backs. Very fun simple visual magic. In a second handling a decl you’ve been using to perform suddenly becomes blank then returns to normal. The deck and immediately be used for additional tricks as it is in the lecture.

Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater

My take on the Lie Detector plot influenced by Solomon-Steinmeyer-DaOrtiz My new FAVORITE impromptu trick with additional refinement from Eugene Burger and Max Maven

The Portal

Jeremiah Zuo

Cards appear as they travel through a portal! No really they do!

Something Borrowed Something New

Jack Carpenter

You’ll be doing some amazing visual magic with very little effort and a freely selected card. You’ll love this!
