Our Goals
Info for You
We want to avoid two extremes:
- 2-3 stapled sheets of paper that only contain enough details to piece together the material if you saw the lecture in person
-a hardbound, graphic masterpiece going for $150

We want to publish and sell well-written, detailed expositions of good material, that have been meticulously illustrated in a way that aids learning. We want to pack lots of good material from excellent creators into excellent booklets that range from $15-25.

Our lecture notes will contain material from creators who have been vetted and selected for their magical excellence.

The write-ups will be detailed and clear so that one can understand and learn the material, even if they were never fortunate enough to see the creator in person.

They will be meticulously and carefully illustrated in a way that aids the learning. Too often in some of the newer products, illustrations are done to enhance the beauty of the product and not to increase its pedagogical value.

We operate as a legitimate publishing house. We do not charge you to write or illustrate your material. If we elect to publish your work, we will do that for you at no cost.

We will market and sell your work through ChicagoMagicBash

You can also buy author copies dirt cheap, so that you can sell and distribute them as you please, at lectures or other events, and still make money on them

Publications should be three to seven tricks (ish), or one longer showpiece.

You get to choose the selling price (we will say something if we think you are being crazy), but they should be between $15-$25
6.
Submissions should be a trick list (with one or two sentences describing the tricks) and one or two videos demo-ing an entire piece from the proposed notes. We don’t need to vet every individual piece you want in the notes. We just need to see the your material is worth publishing
